Same Elephant, New Look: Why We Rebranded
Our product grew into a full AI design workspace. Our brand and marketing had not caught up. Here is why we rebranded, what changed, and why Ellie still feels personal, friendly, and on your side.
For a long time, Hiding Elephant had a quiet mismatch.
Inside the product, things were getting serious: a real canvas, stronger editing, brand context, workflows, teamwork. Outside, the face of the company still felt like an early-stage logo tool with a basic homepage and not much else.
It was time for the brand to catch up.
Not only because we wanted a prettier logo (and yes, we think Ellie is pretty awesome 😏).
We rebranded because the story people saw when they arrived no longer matched the tool they would actually use. If you are going to ask designers and teams to trust you with real creative production, the brand has to feel like it belongs in that conversation.

The gap that made us move
The product quality kept climbing. Marketing and visibility lagged behind.
For a while that was fine. We were busy shipping. Then it stopped being fine.
People who already used Hiding Elephant often said the tool felt deeper than the website suggested. People who only saw the homepage sometimes bounced before they ever met the workspace. Our elephant was hiding a little too well.
We had grown from an AI logo tool into an AI design workspace.
The brand needed to grow with it.
Where we came from
Our older brand was honest for its time.
A peeking elephant. A fun mark. A homepage that introduced the idea without really showing the world we were building.

It worked when the product was narrower. It started to feel undersized once the workspace did more than generate a mark and export a file.

V3 (our transition logo)
We are not embarrassed by that chapter. It is part of the story. But even elephants outgrow things, and this one had outgrown her old outfit.
What we changed
The rebrand touched more than a logo file. Ellie got the full treatment.
1. A complete brand system
New wordmarks, avatars, icons, fonts, and campaign art. Light and dark versions. Marks that hold up in a nav bar, a favicon, a slide, or a partner page.

Hiding Elephant Logo - 2026 Rebrand

If you write about us, share us, or partner with us, those assets now live in one place on our brand assets page.
2. A clearer public face
We rebuilt the marketing site so the first impression matches the product: generation, craft, brand consistency, automation, collaboration, and delivery. Less "basic homepage, hope for the best." More "here is the workspace, and here is who it is for."

3. A warmer product experience
The brand did not stop at the homepage. We carried the same personality into the app: clearer flows, friendlier moments, and a visual language that feels consistent from marketing into the workspace.

The goal was simple: when you go from the website into the product, it should feel like the same company, not two different eras glued together and politely pretending not to notice.
Ellie stays at the center
The elephant was never meant to be a cold corporate mascot.
She would be terrible at wearing a tie.
Ellie is our friendly creative assistant. Curious, calm, playful, and always on your side. She helps throughout the creative journey. She does not replace you.

That balance matters to us. AI can move fast. Design still needs taste, judgment, and direction. We want the brand to feel personal and down-to-earth.
Helpful, not overhyped. Friendly, not fake. Powerful, without pretending the human left the room.

As we put it on the about page - powerful tools can still feel curious, calm, and human. Your taste, your eye, and your direction remain the things that matter most.
What we wanted the brand to feel like
If we had to put the rebrand into a few words:
- Personal enough that Ellie feels like a companion, not a logo sticker
- Down-to-earth enough that designers trust we understand real production work
- Friendly enough that the product still feels fun when the deadlines definitely are not
- Grown-up enough for teams shipping campaigns, catalogs, and client work

That is the tone we were chasing across the site, the in-app experience, and the character art.
More than a new look
This rebrand is a big milestone for us.
It reflects how far Hiding Elephant has come and where we are heading next.
We are building a creative workspace that feels capable, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable to use. The new identity brings that ambition to the surface. It is not just how Hiding Elephant looks. It is how we want the product to feel every time you create with it.

What stays the same
The name. The elephant. The belief that started the company.
AI should enhance designers, not replace them.
We still believe the best creative work comes from people. Ellie is there to help you explore, iterate, and finish with more confidence, not to take the credit or the craft.
If you want the product story behind the brand shift, start with where we are headed. If you want the assets, grab them from brand assets. And if you want to feel the difference in practice, open the design canvas and say hi to Ellie there.

Cheers,
Daniel
